Breaking Benjamin Concert…

Now that was one hell of a show. I got there about 5:30, doors opened at 7. We were the 7th and 8th people to get there. We saw Ben a couple of times he was walking around, signing stuff, posing for pictures, etc. But what sucks is they split the into 2 so some other people got to get in at the same time as we did even though they were in the middle of the line. Anyway we got in at 7 and we straight for the floor. The rail was taken by now because of them letting people in from two doors. So we got behind there two chicks who were on the rail right in the center in front of the mic stand. So, we had another hour to wait for the opening band to come out.

8:00-8:45: Ludo Now the first band sucked ass. They were a Weezer/Blink/Jimmy Eat World wanna be band. The only cheers they got were from a Faith No More – Epic cover and it wasn’t even that good. They had this guy on a keyboard thing, who wasn’t wearing shows and looked like he was going into shock . The lead singer was about to screw his guitar, he kept on stroking the next and humping it. That was messed up. He then started to play back to back with the keyboard player. They needed a room. There were actually a couple of chicks who came just to see them, so the guys next to us let them close to the stage. And then they left. They had never heard of Breaking Benjamin, that’s just plain crazy, but anyway I have talked about them much more than they deserved. Two words: They SUCKED!!!

9:15-10-40: Breaking Benjamin Time for the real reason why everyone was there. This was their second straight show in St. Louis, they also played on Saturday night. Both shows were sellouts and at only 10 bucks you can see why. They call STL their second home and will play here any day, anytime. Which is why they decided to tape both shows and they will be on their DVD, whenever that comes out. Ben said he wants to move here, lol. Well it started with the guy who was taping the show announcing the band. He was also out earlier checkin out the lines. Anyway the crowd went crazy when they came out. Everyone was shoved forward into the railing. I was trying to hold people back so that I would crush the chick in front of me, but that didn’t work out so well. They played everything including 3 new songs. One of which was their new single “So Cold.” There were people surfing constantly. I got an ass in the face once and a shoe another time. I tried to watch the security call out the surfers and watch the show, but that didn’t always work out. It was impossible to move at all in there. The hardest thing was staying up because my feet couldn’t move and getting shoved made it really hard to maintain balance, but I was able to do it. When they finished playing, they threw out the pics and drum sticks and that’s when hell broke loose. Everyone was shoving to get closer, it was crazy. Then, they came out for an encore. There was a drum solo, then they came out and did a Tool cover. After that Ben jumped into the crowed and surfed. They threw out some more pics and I was able to find one that was thrown out, but no one caught it, so I found it on the floor. I will add a shot of the pic later. I was drenched by the end of the show. When I finally made it outside I froze my ass off because I was soaked and the cold air. We decided to wait around a little bit to see if they would come out and sign stuff, but they didn’t.

I guess that’s about it. I’m sure I forgot some stuff, but oh well. It was one of the best shows I have ever been to. It is right up there with Taproot at The Galaxy. I don’t know if I have ever seen a crowd into a band like that before. I can’t wait for the DVD. This was my second time seeing them live. I also saw them at Pointfest last summer. I had 3rd row center seats and caught a drum stick. They were awesome live there too, but this second time was unbelievable.

UPDATE: Had issues with the site, so had to use the cache of my site from google to get this post back.
