I have been meaning to post a bit of an update on how my running has been going, but I just never seemed to get around to it. I have actually been running since early ’07, but I had to quit in October after I hurt my knee. I decided to give my knee a break and see if it would eventually stop hurting, but it did not, so in December I went to my doctor and had to have physical therapy done on it. The therapy did help a lot and I felt it was finally time to start running again and get back into shape.
In April ’07 I bought the Nike+ kit which attaches to my iPod Nano, which I bought just for this purpose. It keeps track of total distance, pace, time and if you tell it your weight it will also figure out the number of calories you have burned.
I began to pick up my running again in February ’08, with just a few runs to start getting back to the hang of it. By the time March came around I was able to really get moving and have been doing so ever since.
My current routine is 5-7 miles 3-4 days a week.

- Fastest Mile: 9 minutes 24 seconds
Even though these stats include last years runs, a majority of this was done this year. Since I started running I have dropped over 25lbs. and still working towards losing more. I never thought I would be able to run a half marathon, but it just shows you never know what you can do until you try.
