Adobe/Macromedia have announced a couple of new software bundles. The lower end bundle, Adobe® Design Bundle, includes: Adobe Creative Suite 2 Premium software with Macromedia® Flash® Professional 8 and goes for $1599. The Adobe® Web Bundle includes: Adobe Creative Suite 2 Premium with Macromedia® Studio 8 and goes for $1899. I have been debating if I should upgrade to the latest versions. I am on Adobe CS and Macromedia MX 2004. The student version of the new bundles go for $549 and $599.

WordPress 2.0
Asymptomatic reveals some of the bigger changes in WordPress 2.0.
“One important note before we begin: Many of the changes in WordPress from 1.5 to 2.0 are under the hood. They are things that you’re not going to notice unless you are developer. There are some features that casual users will notice that are significant, but (in my opinion) most of the real change has happened where most people won’t see.”
There is now some AJAX goodness in the admin sections. Including being able to add categories right from the Write Post page, yay! You will be able to browse for images and upload them directly from the write page. There was a bump in version numbers from 1.6 to 2.0, so there must a large number of improvents over the current 1.5.2 release. From the sound of it the code under WordPress is a giant improvement. This is something I probly will never see, but great for the people who create the plugins. (I have no programming skills 🙂 )
The beta is currently out now, but I am gonna wait for an official release.
Firefox 1.5
Firefox 1.5 is now out. The mozilla.org site has also been given a facelift and a relocation to mozilla.com. Anyone know who did the redesign? I know that silverorange did the previous design.
I have been using 1.5 since the first Release Candidate and have had a good experience with it. Just about all of the extensions that I use have already been updated. The automatic updates have worked without any issues. The reordering of tabs is a great feature, that previously required the use of an extension. You can read all of the changes in the Release Notes.
Goodies
There is now a goodies section. So far I just have some wallpapers up, but I plan to work on some wordpress themes as well. The wallpapers are available as 1920×1200 (widescreen), 1280×1024, and 800×600. If you would like me to offer another size, please contact me.
I am also working on the gallery. I have the basics done, but there is still quite a bit of tweaking left to do.
