New Lens

I have had my Canon Rebel XT for over 6 months now and the kit lens just isn’t doing it for me anymore. I think the new Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Lens is gonna be the next one for me. The cost of L glass is expensive, but I see the results from it everyday at work and the results are fantastic. The added IS will make a dramatic difference in my ability to hand hold shots. I am getting tired of blurry images when taking anything inside. The 24-105 should be a great walking around lens. The photographer I work with has the 70-200mm L glass lens and that thing is a beast. We have a few other non-L glass lenses and the difference in the quality is huge.

BillMonk

BillMonk is a site for keeping track of money you owe your friends and what they owe you. This is a great idea. You can even report charges via text message on your cellphone right after it happens.

The interface is clean and easy to use. Check out the review at techcrunch for more details.

I’m home

In case you didn’t know I spent the last week in Florida. I am too tired right now to go into details, but we had a great time. You can see the pictures in my gallery. The joy of peeling has begun.

Work has been pretty hectic over the past few weeks. I am currently doing the ordering for one of our other studios on top of my normal duties, so sufficie it to say I have been busy.

I also started working on a redesign on this site, so hopefully I can get that up sometime soon.

Bought a Wacom Tablet

One of the first things I had to new where I work is use a Wacom Tablet. This took me a week or 2 to get used to it, but I will never look back. Working in Adobe Photoshop all day makes a tablet a must, esp. for retouching.

So, I decided it was time to get myself one. I had a $75 off coupon from Dell after the problem I had getting my camera from them. So I went on last night and Dell had the Graphire for $99.95 – $10.00 and then I used my $75 off, which came out to $14.95 with $.93 in tax, free shipping, saved $5.50 there. Which is a great deal, but Wacom is also offering a $15 mail-in rebate. So $.88 for a $99.95 tablet, cant beat it. It has already shipped today and I just ordered it last night.
