10 years ago, August 9, 2006, I shot my very first concert. I have met a ton of awesome photographers, security guards, promoters, bands and fans. I have gotten to see a ton of great shows and photograph some of my favorite bands, including, but not limited to: Breaking Benjamin, Incubus, Deftones, Sevendust, Taproot, Story of the Year, Cage The Elephant, Soundgarden, Shinedown and Halestorm.
Every spring, when Pointfest comes around, I know that the summer concert season has begun. Pointfest 2016 had a solid lineup featuring: Deftones, Chevelle, Bring Me The Horizon, Coheed and Cambria, The Struts, Flogging Molly, Story Of The Year, Highly Suspect, Sick Puppies, Holy White Hounds and The Hush List.

Now that was an incredible show! The guys in Story of the Year really went all out to give the hometown fans one hell of a sold out show. This was my second time photographing one of their concerts and as before it was not an easy show to shoot. The lighting was okay at best, there were monitors and platforms lining the front of the stage and they were constantly on the move.

On October 4th I had the chance to photograph Story of the Year, at The Pageant in St. Louis, MO, their hometown. I have seen them quite a few times live and they always put on one heck of a show, their energy is second to none.
Continue readingWell tomorrow (Sunday) I am flying out to D.C. for a week. I am going to see Linkin Park, P.O.D., Hoobastank and Story of the Year out there on Friday. I am staying in the friends dorm suite, like 5 other guys like there. And they play HALO all the time so I better get somewhat good at it. Cause right now I am terrible on XBOX version, but on PC I’m ok. I like the mouse and keyboard setup much better for shooters. My friend will mainly be spending Mon-Fri going to classes and working in the schools bookstore. then Friday is the concert and he has Fri-Sun off.
Mainly I just really need to get away. It’s been years since I’ve been away for longer than a day or two. I need to decide where I am going to school in the fall and what my major will be.
