World of Warcraft Stress Test

I got into the WoW stress test and have been playing for the past week and a half. So far it is very good. There are obviously still some bugs and issues with it, but for the most part it is pretty well polished.

I have added some pics to my gallery.

Pics from D.C.

I finally got all of the good pictures that I took while in D.C. Check them out here. They were taken with a cheapo 35mm camera and then scanned in. Also, they were reduced in size. Some turned out really well and some not so much, but oh well.

DSL back to normal

I found out that during all of the problems with my DSL it got capped. So, I got it uncapped and I am back to 1500/300 roughly.

yay.

Finally back online

I am finally back. The problem started last week when our DSL went out. It was down for a few hours and repeated power cycling did not fix our problem. So we called SBC and they tested the line and found a problem with it. But we were able to got it back up that night. The next day they had a tech out who was not able to find where the exact cause of the problem was, so he had to put out an emercency call to get someone else. Next day comes and the next guy finds some noise on the line and cleans it up.

Everything is running just fine. Until I start to download something on Saturday and notice that my download speed is about half of what it should be. So, I decided to try and power cycle everything. That was a mistake because the modem would not sync back up. sunday morning we get a hold of SBC again and they send out someone else who finds out there is no problem with the line outside and say the problem is likely the modem.

We called SBC once again on Tuesday and get someone who had no idea what the hell they were doing and extremely hard to understand because of her accent. Telling us to restart our computer and everything else. Which I had tried about 20 times. No matter how many times we said this we coulnd’t get anywhere with her. All we wanted was to get someone out here who could come and replace the modem. We had enough of her and just hung up. Later that afternoon we get someone good who sets up an appointment the next day, today. Tuesday I also took the modem over to my cousins house who also has DSL just to test it and it did not work.

So, today the tech comes out, tests the line inside the house, no problems. So decides it’s the modem. Gets a new one and I’m back up and running in just a few minutes. The good news, the modem was free. The bad news, had to pay $60 for the tech to come out.

Also, currently my connection is not what it should be. 37 k, should be 120k. I will give it a few days. I know it can take awhile for the modem to reach max capacity.

I was starting to go through withdrawls not being able to get online.

Off for D.C.

Sunday morning I am off to D.C. until Friday.

I have added more pictures to the gallery. They are from the two concerts I saw this past week, Blindside and Finch.
